About the Role

We're seeking a creative and digitally-savvy Social Media Marketing Intern to capture and showcase our educational tech programs while supporting students with their own marketing projects. Our NextGen AI Business and Marketing summer camp empowers youth with practical digital skills across multiple tracks including ecommerce, app development, game design, drone technology, AI authoring, and YouTube content creation. In this role, you'll document daily activities, manage our social media presence, create engaging content, and mentor students on marketing best practices for their businesses.. This position offers hands-on experience at the intersection of nonprofit marketing, youth education, and digital content creation.

Key Responsibilities
Document daily camp activities through photography, video, and written content
Create and manage engaging content across our social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube)
Develop a consistent posting schedule and content calendar for summer programs
Support campers with their marketing projects, providing guidance on social media strategy, content creation, and digital marketing techniques
Assist instructors in the ecommerce, YouTube, and other tracks with marketing-related curriculum
Create promotional materials for camp events, showcases, and grant award celebrations
Collect testimonials and success stories from campers and staff
Maintain brand consistency across all digital and print materials
Track social media analytics and engagement metrics
Collaborate with the administrative team on email newsletters and updates to parents/guardians

Travel Requirements
Our positions require mobility and travel. Youth classes are conducted at local high schools or education buildings, not at our main office. Similarly, Tech It Easy classes are held off-site at nursing homes and adult care facilities throughout Cincinnati. As an intern, you will be expected to travel to these various educational sites and will only report to our main office once per week for team meetings and administrative tasks. Therefore, all applicants must possess a valid driver's license and be willing to travel approximately 25% of their work time. Additionally, our networking events and special programs are typically held at convention centers in the Cincinnati area. Reliable transportation is essential for this position, as you'll need to transport materials and equipment between locations. Please consider these travel requirements carefully before applying.

Requirements

  • Experience with social media management and content creation

  • Proficiency with digital marketing tools and platforms

  • Photography and basic video editing skills

  • Knowledge of social media best practices and current trends

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work with diverse age groups, particularly youth

  • Creative problem-solving and adaptability

  • Experience with graphic design tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) preferred

  • Understanding of marketing analytics and reporting

  • Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check

  • Must consent to random drug testing as per foundation policy

  • Reliable transportation to our Cincinnati locations
