About the Role
We're seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy Technology Support Specialist to provide critical IT support for our summer programs. In this role, you'll ensure all technology runs smoothly across multiple program sites, troubleshoot technical issues, and support both participants and instructors with their technology needs. This position offers valuable hands-on experience in IT support within an educational environment while contributing to our mission of digital inclusion.
Key Responsibilities
Provide first-level technical support for all program devices, software, and internet connectivity
Configure, test, and troubleshoot computer systems, software, and peripherals
Diagnose and resolve technical issues during program sessions to minimize disruption
Set up and maintain technology equipment for various program tracks
Install and update necessary software on program devices
Create and manage user accounts for participants and staff
Provide basic training and guidance on technology use to participants and staff
Document common technical issues and solutions for future reference
Maintain inventory of technology equipment and supplies
Collaborate with instructors to ensure technology needs are met for each program track
Provide technical support to end-users, resolving hardware and software issues efficiently.
Manage and maintain firewalls, ensuring robust security measures are in place.
Oversee network administration tasks, including monitoring performance and troubleshooting connectivity issues.
Implement Group Policy Objects (GPO) to manage user permissions and security settings across the organization.
Administer Windows Server environments, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
Maintain IT infrastructure, including servers, workstations, and networking equipment.

Travel Requirements
Our positions require mobility and travel. Youth classes are conducted at local high schools or education buildings, not at our main office. Similarly, Tech It Easy classes are held off-site at nursing homes and adult care facilities throughout Cincinnati. However once you are assigned to an education building that will serve as your primary location. As an intern, you will be expected to travel to these various work sites and will only report to our main office once per week for team meetings and administrative tasks. Therefore, all applicants must possess a valid driver's license and be willing to travel approximately 25% of their work time. Additionally, our networking events and special programs are typically held at convention centers in the Cincinnati area. Reliable transportation is essential for this position, as you'll need to transport materials and equipment between locations. Please consider these travel requirements carefully before applying. Requirements
Knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking fundamentals
Experience troubleshooting common technical issues
Familiarity with Windows and Mac operating systems
Basic understanding of internet connectivity and wireless networks
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Excellent communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts clearly
Patient and service-oriented approach to technology support
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (required)
Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check
Must consent to random drug testing as per foundation policy
